Gene began working with the Assembly and Basic languages on Radio Shack TRS-80 systems in the mid-1980's. Gene then moved into the world of Global networks upon entering the US Navy and becoming a Crypto Communications, Electronics Engineer. Gene obtained his Electronics Engineering degree and provided project leadership and design innovation for the US Department of Defense and the US Navy.

After departing from strictly US Government work in 1990, Gene founded and became the CEO of Provance Systems, Inc. Provance Systems pioneered the concept of services based companies that provide both Voice and Data Network services for commercial business. The company also offered the unique service of Voice-over-Data across WAN links using products from partner Micom (later acquired by Nortel Networks) and Teleport Communications Group (later acquired by AT&T). The company predominantly served clients in the financial and transportation services industries while working on projects from multi-vendor relationships with companies such as EDS and ADP.

In 2001, Gene began working with ACS, a Fortune 500, 53,000 employee company that provides Outsourced IT and Business Processing Services for their clients. As Director of Integrated Systems and Desktop Services, Gene was responsible for providing services to both ACS corporate and ACS clients. Gene was responsible for the operations of multiple groups comprised of, Network, Call Center, Infrastructure and LAN, Messaging, Directory, Desktop and Web Services.

Since has Gene moved into the Automated Services and Support Software industry as a Solution Executive for SupportSoft, Inc. SupportSoft delivers service and support automation and knowledge management software for Digital Service Providers, Managed Service Providers, Enterprise and Federal Government clients.

Over the years, Gene has worked and still maintains relationships with companies such as IBM, Accenture, ACS, CSC, CompuCom, E&Y, WAMU, CGI, ACS and EDS, GM, Ingram Micro and others.

Based on his background in both business and technology, Gene also provides consultant services for CEO and Board of Directors positions for startups and companies in need of a turn-around expert.
